Barbara Lynn Adkins

Barbara Lynn Adkins, 71 of Barbourville, passed away on Saturday, July 4, 2026, at the Baptist Health Hospital in Corbin. She was born in Bell County on January 18, 1955, a daughter of the late KC Brown and Pearlie M. Sanders Brown Giles. Barbara was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved watching crime and medical shows, and a good cold Diet Mountain Dew. Barbara had been a Registered Nurse for Barbourville ARH.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charles E Adkins; brother, Michael Brown and wife, Sharon; and infant brother, Patrick N. Brown.

Barbara is survived by her daughters and their spouses, Alyssia and Chris Gray and Paula and Mark Philpot; grandchildren, Christian Gray, Layla Gray, Tristan and Kristin Philpot, and Amber and Matthew Smith; great-grandchildren, Adaline Philpot, Charlotte Philpot, and Mallory Smith; siblings, Anne Marie and Thomas Mus, David Giles, and Yvonne and Hoss Napier; nieces and nephews, Nick Frye, Christina Poynter, Sarah Mus, Laura Mus, and Casey Brown; fellow “mother-in-law”, Darlene Bingham; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Private services were held by Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the Adkins Family.
