Arthur Jackson

Longtime Pineville resident and businessman, Arthur Jackson, 82, passed away on Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the Greg and Noreen Wells Hospice Care Center in Hazard, Kentucky. Arthur will be remembered as the previous owner and operator of J and B Spouting, Art and Eddie's Guttering, as well as Jackson Guttering. Born on March 17, 1936, and raised on Laurel Hill, Arthur was preceded in death by his parents, Johnny and Debbie Simpson Jackson; his first wife, Shirley Thompson Jackson; brothers, Charles and Jim Jackson; sister, Mary Cox; and son-in-law, Greg Weddle. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Cole Jackson; daughters, Arthalea Quillen and husband, Doug, and Robin Smith and husband, Mike, Allison Pratt and husband, Deon, and Andrea Weddle; grandchildren, Erin (Drew) Peterson, Joel (Julia) Quillen, Matthew Quillen, Brooke (Jeremy) Sanders, Kaci (Zachary) Ausmus, Kelli Smith, Jenna, Jayme and Jaya Pratt and Sidney Weddle; great-grandchildren, Trace and Gracie Freeman, Mason Peterson and Brody and Brylee Sanders; brothers and sisters, Joh (Ruth) Jackson, Gary (Shirley) Jackson, Eddie (Beulah) Jackson, Loretta Freeman) Hoskins and Coretta (Dan) Fitzpatrick; brothers-in-law, Lee Otis Thompson, Kendall Thompson and Clayborne Cox; sister-in-law, Christine Jackson and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends. Family and friends have always said that "Arthur has a green thumb", he was an avid gardener and enjoyed nothing better than sharing his fruits and vegetables with family, friends and neighbors. Come celebrate the life of Arthur Jackson at 7:00 PM on Tuesday, March 19, 2019 at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Jeremy Sanders. Private cremation services were held at the Arnett & Steele Cremation Center in Pineville, and burial will follow in the Johnny Jackson Cemetery on Laurel Hill at a later date. The family will receive friends from 4 until 7 PM Tuesday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to be serving the Jackson Family.
