Anna Lee Hurd

Anna Hurd, age 87, was called to her Heavenly Home on October 19, 2019. She was born in Pineville Kentucky on April 18, 1932 to mother Mossie Asher Bailey. She was the beloved mother of 5 children, grandmother of 7, great-grandmother to 7, and great-great-grandmother of 2. She enjoyed the holidays because it meant that she would have her family home to enjoy her cooking and share time with each other. She loved to try out new recipes and share food with her friends. Her hobbies were working in her flowers, making quilts to give to her children and for baby showers. Traveling was her passion after she lost her husband. She covered 39 states, Canada, the Bahamas and many other places of interest with her co-workers, chat room friends, and her brother and sister-in-law.. She graduated from nursing school in 1969 and was employed at Pineville Community Hospital for 38 years. She retired in 2005 to have more time to enjoy with her family. Anna was preceded in death by her husband Arthur Hurd, mother Mossie, brother Arnold Page, daughter Bonetta, and sons Tommy and John Hurd, her grandmother who she adored, May Asher, and her two daughters-in-law, Libby Hurd and Linda Sue Hurd. She is survived by her son Alan Hurd, daughter Lisa Hurd Deaton, grandchildren Jason Hurd, Jordan Clay (Andrea) Hurd, Morgan (Perry) Mason, Tyler (Haley) Wilson, Sara (Tyler) Mills, Katherine Hurd, and Grayson Hurd. Her great-grandchildren Sammi Hurd, Paris Hurd, Cassandra Cobbs, James and Brody Mills, Conner Wilson, and Ellie Hurd. Great-great-grandchildren Braiden Hurd and Maddox Wood. Daughter-in-law Judy (John) Hurd. Special cousin Sue (Jimmy) Johnson. And a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Services will be at 8:00 PM Tuesday at the West Pineville Baptist Church with Rev. Eddie Baker, Rev. Jimmy Johnson and Rev. Mickey Jones. Music will be by Bridgett Dixon and David Peters. Burial will be on Wednesday at 10:00 AM at the Pineville Memorial Cemetery and pallbearers will be family and friends.
