Anna Howard

Anna B. Howard, 89 of Cumberland Gap, passed away on Monday, July 17, 2023, at the Tri State Manor in Harrogate. She was born in Cubbage on July 8, 1934, a daughter of the late, John Matt and Dorothy Miracle Green. Anna was a member of the Harvest Community Worship Center and had been a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Wendell Howard; grandson, Gary Miracle; brothers, Lester Green, Jay Green, and Cecil Green; and sisters, America Green, Dorsie Green, and Hillary Green.

Anna is survived by her daughters, Sarah Allen and husband, Tom, Aileen Howard-Runion and husband, Danny, and Denise Short; son, James Short and wife, Charlene; grandchildren, Rebecca Mullins, Jamie Lynn Ellis, Cheyenne Short, Jamie Short, Haley Short, Tori Allen, Kalee Short, and Jacob Money; great-grandchildren, Shyleigh Widener, Kyson Cloud, Jaylon Short, Derreck Short, Mason Hall, Hudson Hall, Ethen Waldroof, Coltyn Ellison, Wesley Runion, Danielle Adams and husband, Gary, Carolyn Mullins, Justin Mullins, and Domenick Mullins; great-great-grandchild, Jackson James Adams; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.

Graveside services will be at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, July 19, 2023, at the Aunt Emily Cemetery in Miracle with Rev. David Rice presiding. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
