Amanda Nadean Grays Dean, 88, of Pineville, passed away on Friday, July 25, 2014, at the Middlesboro Health and Rehab Center. She was born in Tinsley on May 6, 1926 a daughter of the late Ernest and Alexis Hembree Grays. She was a member of the Riverside Baptist Church and had been a cook for the Bell County School System for 17 years. Nadean served as a Democrat Party Election Officer for 32 years. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Hubert Dean; daughter, Kletha Jane Dean; brothers and sister, Bill, James and John Grays and Julia Agnes Morgan. Survivors include her children, Alden (Connie) Dean; Judy Dean and Danny (Sharon0 Dean; four grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren; a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Services will be at 2:00 PM Monday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Chapel with Rev. Ray Spicer and Rev. Astor Simpson. Music will be by Teresa Davenport. Burial will be in Green Hills Memorial Gardens, Middlesboro. Pallbearers will be Gary Brooks, Arliss Davenport, Rick Dunn, Mike Sproles, John Vancleave and Ronnie Washam. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Hays, Dr. Barry, Dr. Lui and John C. Mills. The family will receive friends from 12 until the funeral hour at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center, Pineville, which is honored to serve the Dean Family.
