Alva Jones, 80 of Frakes, Kentucky passed away on Monday, December 20, 2021, surrounded by family at Baptist Health in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born in Frakes on April 3, 1941, a son of the late Arthur and Bertha Fletcher Jones. Alva proudly served his country in the United States Army. He was a skilled Sheet Metal Worker for over 30 years from which he was retired. Alva was a lifelong Saint Louis Cardinals fan in addition to being an avid supporter of the Kentucky Wildcats. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers and sisters, Fay Jones Blevins, James Jones, Wayne Jones, Betty Rae Jones Ames, and Donald Jones. Alva is survived by his loving wife of 54 years, Molly Jones; daughter, Kellie Jones; son, Mitchell Jones and wife, Sunny; grandchildren, Christopher Ian Herndon, Isabella Hurst and husband, Hunter, Olivia Webb, Candace Jones, Grace Jones; great-grandchildren, Willow Herndon and Drago Hurst; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends. Funeral services will be at 1:00 PM on Tuesday, December 28, 2021, at the United Methodist Church in Frakes with Rev. Clayton Barton presiding. Burial will follow at the Lee Cemetery in Davisburg. Pallbearers will be Cody Jones, Cole Jones, Mike Jones, Tim Good, Adam Barton, and Spencer Caylor. The family of Alva Jones will receive friends on Monday from 5:00 PM until 7:00 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to serve the Jones Family.
