Allen Dobbs

Rev. Randy Allen Dobbs, 47, of Tazewell, TN. passed away Thursday, March 14, 2013, at his home. Randy was born October 6, 1965 in Tazewell, and was the son of the late Dale Dobbs and Mary McDaniel Dobbs who survives. Randy was a Holiness Minister, he was Pastor of The Ferguson Ridge Pentecostal Holiness Church of Tazewell, where he attend and was Pastor for seven years. He founded The Freeway Heights Holiness Church in Pineville, KY where he attended for a short while. He has preached in eight states and at over one hundred different places. Randy was a member of the Claiborne County Ministerial Association of which he was President for six years and served as Secretary for a number of years at different times. He served as President Facilitator of the Claiborne County Communities Advisory Board for three years, he also served as Chaplain for the Claiborne County Hospital for several years. Randy had a radio broadcast in four different states and played gospel music for several years on local radio stations, and a tape ministry reaching several states. He graduated from Claiborne County School, where he returned to and worked a number of years as substitute teacher and a teacher's assistant. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by his grandparents, Horace and Bonnie Dobbs , Johnny and Ethel McDaniel, and father and mother-in law, Dennis and Sue Akers. In addition to his mother, he is survived by his wife Shirley Akers Dobbs, sons, Randy Dobbs, Jr., Brandon Dobbs, and Jared Dobbs, daughters, Miranda Dobbs, and Breanna Dobbs, his brothers, Gary Dobbs , Brian and April Dobbs , and a great host of family, friends, church family and brother ministers.
