John Golden, 68 of Pineville, passed away on Thursday, October 8, 2015 at the Tri-State Manor Health Care in Harrogate. He was born in Louisville on August 18, 1947 and was a son of the late Richard Davis and Ethel O'Hara Asher Golden. John was a member of the First Baptist Church of Pineville and served our country in the United States Air Force. As a life-long resident of Pineville and Bell County, John was a lawyer and served as the Bell County Attorney for 22 years. He was also an avid fisherman. Survivors include his sons, Jason H. Golden and wife, Tiffany, John L. Collins and Brandi Jordan; his daughter, Rebekah Golden; grandchildren, Jaythen Golden and Abigail Jones; brothers, James R. Golden and wife, Heather and Asher Golden; sister RuthAnn Golden Howard; nieces and nephews, Elizabeth Golden Powell, Katherine O'Hara Golden, Byron Kemp Howard, II, James Stephen Golden, Noah Asher Howard and Matthew Davis Golden; as well as a host of cousins, other relatives and many, many friends he made through the years. Funeral services will be 2 PM Sunday at the First Baptist Church in Pineville with Rev. Sylvester Dunn and Dr. Ron Howard. Music will be by Thomasa Risner. Burial will follow in the Pineville Memorial Cemetery with Kemp Howard, Noah Howard, James Stephen Golden, Matthew Golden, Scott Powell, Boone Logan and Harry Bush serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers are Mike Clore, Johnny Lefevers, Joel Goodin, Bill Williams, Neil Ward, Mike Scalf, Faye Slusher, Mike Sproles and Nick Reel. The family will receive friends on Saturday from 5 until 8 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral and Cremation Center in Pineville, which is honored to be serving the Golden family.
