Bessie Jackson

Bessie Lawson Jackson, 86, of Arjay, passed away on Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at the Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Hospital. Born in Beverly, KY on April 6, 1921, she was the daughter of the late Lewis and Martha Meredith Lawson. She was a member of the St. Creek Pentecost Holiness Church and had been a homemaker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Jackson, daughter, Dorothy Gibbons, brothers and sisters, Mallie Taylor, George Lawson, Rant Lawson, Dora Lawson, Virgie Hubbard, Fannie Smith and Ella Jones. Survivors include her children, Wanda Deaton and husband, Jim of Arjay, Lewis Jackson of New Tazewell and Donald Jackson of Middlesboro; son-in-law, Ralph Gibbons of Arjay, grandchildren, Kimmy L. Jackson, Pamela A. Owens, Charlene R. Davis, Michael F. Jackson, Kentherlan Brown, Tara Rainey and Donna Myers; ten great-grandchildren, sisters, Lucy Gambrel and Hester Vaughn, both of Arjay and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
