Sarah Alice Stewart Hobbs Sarah Alice Stewart Hobbs, 82, of Pineville, passed away on Thursday, May 31, 2012 , at the London Saint Joseph Hospital . She was born in Lynchburg , SC on September 3, 1929 a daughter of the late Jim and Ruth Rogers Stewart. She was a member of the Laurel Hill Pentecostal Church and had been a Gift Shop Manager at the Hospital for many years. Sarah had also worked at Bell Whitley as a Bus Monitor and Teacher's Aide.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lee Hobbs, Jr.; sons, Michael Hobbs; grandchildren, Jeffery and Mary Shirley and brother, William Stewart.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Sharon and Grayson Shirley; Tammy and David Cox; Lin and Kim Hobbs and Glen and Amy Hobbs; daughter-in-law, Karen Hobbs; grandchildren, Randy and Sheila Shirley, Darren and Audrey Shirley, Jacob McGeorge, Shane Hobbs, Lee Cox, Christopher Hobbs, Courtney and Kevin Pinkston, Lindsey Hobbs and Sara Cox; sisters, Betty Sue Ardis and Belva Jean Hickson and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Information
Services will be at 3 PM Saturday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Hubert Baker and Evangelist Michael Ferguson. Music will be by Lisa Messer, Angela Saylor and Stephanie Eldridge. Burial will be in the Pineville Memorial Cemetery , Pineville. Pallbearers will be Randy Shirley, Darren Shirley, Jacob McGeorge, Lee Cox, Jeffrey Shirley, David Cox, Jeremy Shirley, Connor Ford and Dennis Grubbs. Honorary pallbearers will be Mike Long, Grayson Shirley, Everett Sizemore, Doug Roper, Brent Engle, Gary Slusher and Tom Dial.
The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 PM at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and Cremation Center , Pineville, which is honored to serve the Hobbs Family.
