Mr. Bill Ray "B.R." Mead

Bill Ray “B.R.” Mead, 62 of Kettle Island passed away on Tuesday, September 15, 2009 at Central Baptist Hospital in Lexington, Kentucky. He was born on February 7, 1947 in Seymore, Indiana the son of the late Paul and Sue Ayers Mead. Bill was a member of the Mill Creek Baptist Church, Bell Masonic Lodge #691, Shriner’s, a Kentucky Colonel, and was a life member of the Lions Club. He was a Vietnam War Veteran serving in the United States Air Force, had retired as a Water/Waste Water Plant Superintendant for Edinburgh, Indiana and had been a bailiff for the Bell County Sheriff’s Department.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Jana Howard Mead of Kettle Island; son, Billy Ray Mead of Columbus, Ind.; step-children, Debbie and Mike Parson, Darrell and Barbara Saylor, Darlene and Scott Salick and David and Gena Saylor all of Indiana; twin brother, Bobby Mead, one uncle, two aunts and a niece, Jody; 13 grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Information

Services will be at 11 am Saturday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home in Pineville with the Rev. Barry Gibson and Rev. Ron Howard. Music will be by Mickey Wilder, Benny Howard, Ron Howard, Rodger Howard and Jim Miracle. Burial will follow in the Howard Cemetery at Kettle Island. Pallbearers will be Russ Mills, Craig “Boo” Brock, Bill Bailey, Clyde Johnson, Jim Mills, Bishop Johnson, Ken Mosley and Carl Caldwell. Honorary Pallbearers are Gabe Howard, Ted Wilder, Jerry Browning, Larry Howard, Donnie Howard, Charles Saylor, John McKeehan, Harry Bruner and Tim Jones.
