Ford Wilson completed his earthly journey on Monday, July 5, 2010 at the Pineville Community Hospital. He was born July 25, 1915 to the late Camie and Nannie Kinningham Wilson of Bell County, Kentucky. Ford was born in Walker, Kentucky at the home of his grandfather, Lyne S. Kinningham, Jr.

Ford married Jewel Morris October 4, 1946. Jewel passed away January 2, 2007.

Ford is survived by a sister, Jeanette Wilson Farley and a brother Vernon Wilson; two nephews, Gene Cameron Farley(Mary Jane) and Stephen Wilson Farley; one great nephew, Gene Bradford, and a great niece, Kathryn Alexandra and a host of cousins, including, Eloise Drake, J.C. Helton, Cinder Parsons and Mary Lou Brown and their families and the family of the late Marietta Lewis Webster , sister-in-law, Joann Morris and friends including the staff at Pineville Community Hospital and the dining room staff at Pine Mountain State Park.

Ford attended Red Bird High School and Pineville High School; Union College; and University of Kentucky where he received his MA degree in Education. He taught auto mechanics and history at Bell County High School for many years.

He served in the Army during World War II 1942-1945. He saw action in New Guinea and Leyte Gulf in the Philippines.

Ford was a gunsmith and a great outdoorsman who loved to fish, hunt, and spent many hours walking the ridges of Pine Mountain.

He was a member of the First Baptist Church, Pineville. He was kind and courteous person to everyone he met. Honesty, integrity, and always willing to help those in need were the special qualities of Ford Wilson’s life.

Funeral Information

Services will be at 2 PM Thursday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Ron Howard. Music will be by Ron Howard.

Burial will be in the Barbourville Cemetery. Pallbearers will be John Slusher, Rex Miller, David Gambrel, Milton Brooks, Bo Goodin and Virgil Barnett. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles Woolum, Keith Asher, Danny Brock, Jerry Whiteaker, Colby Slusher, Josh Slusher,Jim Baker, Ben Lyne Kinningham, Mike Mills and Mike Asher.

The family will receive from 11 AM until funeral hour on Thursday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home, Pineville which is honored to serve the Wilson Family.
