Rev. Don Q. Downing

Rev. Don Q. Downing Rev. Don Q. Downing, 87, of Pineville passed away on Thursday, December 18, 2008 at the Pineville Community Hospital. He was born in Russellville, KY on May 5, 1921 a son of William Thompson Downing and Ninnie Lewis Downing. He had served in the U.S. Air Force during World War II and had worked on the 42nd Air Supply Squadron. Rev. Downing first was Pastor at Coal Iron and then at Fleming-Neon, Brodhead and Hiedrick, KY and had been an assistant pastor at Central Baptist Church in Corbin. He was a member of First Baptist Church, Pineville.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers and sisters, Harry Douglas Downing, Leland Downing, Gladys Harris, Lewis and Louise Downing, Merrell and Madge Downing and Walker Downing.
Survivors include his wife of 54 years, Ada Walters Downing; sisters-in-law, Kathleen Downing and Emily Downing of Russellville and Dink Downing of San Antonio, TX and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Information
Services will be at 2 PM Saturday, December 20, 2008 at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home with Rev. Kenneth B. Gooch and Rev. Ron Howard. Burial will be in the Pineville Memorial Cemetery, Pineville. Pallbearers will be family and friends.
