Mr. George Johnson

George Johnson George Johnson, 62, of Mathel, passed away on Monday, March 8, 2010 at the Pineville Community Hospital. Born in Harlan County, Kentucky on March 10, 1947, he was the son of the late Robert “Rob” and Lorene Perry Johnson. He believed in the Baptist faith and had been a coal miner.
Survivors include his children and their spouses, Lutina and Leroy Saylor of Calloway, Ky., Margie and Jess Brock of Hulen, KY., Stacy Smith of Manchester, Ky., Tonya and Ed Daniels of Tazewell, TN., brothers, Bob Johnson, Phillip Johnson, Berl Johnson, eighteen grandchildren, four great-grandchildren and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two children, Carol Hensley and Les Graham, sisters, Joyce Johnson and Frances Johnson.
Funeral Information
Services will be at 1:00 PM Thursday, March 11 at the Blackmont Baptist Church with Rev. David Howard and Rev. Jeff Tingle. Music will be by Glenda Senters and Seth Carmical. Burial will be in the Tackett Hill Cemetery with family and friends serving as pallbearers.
