Virgie Cox McGeorge, 91, of Laurel Hill, passed away on Wednesday, December 26, 2007 at the Middlesboro Appalachian Regional Hospital. She was born in
on September 15, 1916 the daughter of the late James and Mary Blanton Cox. She was a member of the Calvin Primitive Baptist Church and had been a homemaker.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 72 years, Edmus McGeorge, son-in-law, Herman Carter, Grandchild, Glenda McGeorge, Daughter-in-Law
Kyong Min McGeorge, brothers Buster & Millard Cox, sister, Sarah Rice
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Beatrice Carter, Harold and Sharon McGeorge, James McGeorge, Laura and Dickie Blanton, John & Kathy McGeorge, Frances and Ken Hall, Phyllis and Bob Smith and Donna and Ron Rose; grandchildren, Pam Stephany, Kim Carter, Vira McGeorge, Janet McGeorge, Myra Covauit, Wesley Blanton, Lisa Ann Brown, Tina Mays, Trissa McGeorge, Scott Hall, Shane and Brandon Smith; great-grandchildren, Jaime Hensley, Shala Ramsey, Rachel, Ben and Grace Barnett and Jordan Hall; great-great-grandchildren, Jason Hensley and Kara Laura Ann, and Kayden Elizabeth Ramsey. Step Grandchildren, Ron,Jr., Ryan, and Riley Rose.. Brother & Sister Christine Jackson & Clayborne Cox.

Funeral Information

Services will be at 11:A.M. on Monday at the Powell Valley Primitive Baptist Church on Laurel Hill with Elders, Kenneth Robbins, Mickey Wilson & Rev. Shelby Money. Burial will be in the John Jackson Cemetery on Laurel Hill. Pallbearers will be Wesley Blanton, Scott Hall, Shane & Brandon Smith, Trissa McGeorge, & Tina Mays. Honorary Pallbearers will be caretakers Melissa Hall, Joan North, Linda Crider, Debbie Barlow & Family Home Health.

The family will receive friends after 6 to 9 PM Saturday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home and on Sunday 5 to 10 p.m. at the church.
