Nelda Taylor

Nelda Carothers Taylor, 79, of Pineville, passed away on Friday, December 21, 2007 at the Pineville Community Hospital. She was born in Selmer, TN on September 11, 1928, a daughter of the late Hoyte and Alliene “Bobbie” Prather Carothers. She was an active member of the First United Methodist Church of Pineville where she had served on various committees and as treasurer, Sunday School Teacher and President of the United Methodist Women. Nelda was an active member of the community being a member of the Junior Women’s Club, PTA and the Mountain Laurel Garden Club, she served in many capacities, including President of each club. She was also active with the Mountain Laurel Festival where she served as Chairman and Co-Chairman and served on various committees. Nelda had been an Executive Secretary for a Medical Office, Legal Office and an Investment Company.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a special sister-in-law, Virginia Taylor.

Survivors include her husband since January 28, 1949, Dr. Leo Taylor, son, Scott Taylor and wife, Krissy of Bowling Green, KY, daughter, Ginger Norris and husband, Dr. Terry Norris of Owensboro, KY; grandchildren, Lee Karl Gilbert of Breckinridge, CO, Timothy Scott Gilbert and wife, Kate of Bowling Green, KY and Casey Leigh Taylor of Sydney, Australia; brother, Hoyte Carothers and wife, Sherry of Clinton, MS; special friend and brother-in-law, Clint Taylor and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral Information

Memorial services will be on Saturday, December 29, 2007 at 2:00 PM at the First United Methodist Church of Pineville, with Rev. Albert Hughes. Special music will be by Annette Walden, Mickey Wilder and Bryan Robbins.

In lieu of flowers, donations are suggested to the First Methodist Church of Pineville, Virginia Ave, Pineville, KY 40977

The family will receive friends Saturday, December 29, from 1:30 until the funeral hour at the First Methodist Church of Pineville.
