James Adkins

James Edward Adkins, Sr. passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2009, at the University of Kentucky Medical Center in Lexington. James was born on May 16, 1966 in Pineville, Kentucky, the son of the late Dennis Ray Adkins and the late Virginia Adkins Helton. He graduated Bell County High School in 1984 and served his country in the United States Marine Corps, receiving the Sea Service Deployment Ribbon and the Good Conduct Medal, and was honorably discharged with the rank of Lance Corporal.

He is survived by his wife, Gail Custins of Middlesboro, a son, James Jr., two daughters, Rebecca and Christine, and five grandchildren. Also among his survivors are three brothers, John Adkins of Middlesboro, Michael Adkins of Lafayette, Indiana, Scotty Adkins of Lexington Kentucky, and their families.

Funeral Information

Memorial Services will be at Arnett & Steele Funeral Home at 1 PM on Saturday, December 19th. Cremation Services were held at the Arnett & Steele Cremation Center in Pineville.
