Robert Roscoe Lewis Robert Roscoe Lewis, 78, of Arjay, passed away on Saturday, April 10, 2010 at the Pineville Community Hospital. Born on August 20, 1931, he was the son of the late Dewey and Miley Sizemore Lewis. He was a member of the Arjay Pentecostal Church and had been a coal miner.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two children, Ricky and Christine Lewis and a brother, Jesse Smith.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Viola Beverly Lewis; children and their spouses, Bonnie and Donnie Carnes, Lonnie and Sheila Lewis, Marlene and Earl Neal, Jackie Lewis, Helen and Anthony Messer and Robert, Jr. and Mildred Lewis; eighteen grandchildren, three of whom he raised as his own, Ricky Cart Lewis, Shonda Shae Lewis and Christine Christian Lewis; twenty-three great-grandchildren, sisters, Virgie Bailey, Emma Jean Shepherd and Birdie Reeder and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Information
Services will be at 2:00 PM Tuesday at the Arjay Pentecostal Church with Rev.
Burial will be in the Green Hills memorial Gardens, Middlesboro, with grandsons serving as pallbearers.
The family will receive friends after 6:00 PM Sunday and all day Monday at the Arjay Pentecostal Church, Arjay.
