Eugene Brock Eugene Brock, 65, of Helton, KY, husband of Sylvia Regina Short Brock, son of the late Allen and Mary Muncy Brock, was born October 15, 1946 in Leslie County, Kentucky went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, January 3, 2012 at the Pineville Community Hospital, in Bell County, Kentucky.
He was a member of the Stoney Fork United Methodist Church and by occupation he was a heavy equipment operator in the Coal Industry. All his family held a special place in his heart. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, watching westerns and ballgames.
Along with his parents he was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Rufus Short; sister, Edith Nantz; brothers-in-law, Scott Nantz, Sterling Caldwell and Morris Howard; nephew, Patrick Howard.
He is survived by his wife of 45 years, Sylvia Regina Short Brock; two daughters, Charlotte Helton and husband Roger of Helton, KY; Gina Watts and husband Rodney of Harrogate, TN; grandchildren, Cody and Tyler Bray and Brooke and Daniel Watts; sister, Sue Caldwell; brothers, Grant Brock and wife, Rose and Rocky Brock and wife, Tina; very dear mother-in-law, Lena Short; brother and sister-in-laws, Betty Howard, Marilyn Johns and Pleas, Sharlene Gross and Robert, Robert Short and Jackie, Jack Short and Lora; brothers-in-law, Lester Noland and Owen Jr. Howard; sister-in-law, Diora Carter and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Funeral Information
Services will be 2:00 PM Sunday at the Middlefork United Methodist Church with Rev. Jack Short, Rev. Robert Gross, Rev. Rodney Watts, Rev. Larry Stubblefield, Rev. Reed Brock and Rev. Jamie Brunk. Music will be by Reed and Barbara Brock and Kathy Brock. Burial will follow in the Honey Branch Cemetery at Middlefork. Pallbearers will be Steve Brock, Spencer Mosley, Ronnie Caldwell, Robert Steven Short, David Short, Cody McQueen, Vincent Howard and Brandon Pierson.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 6 PM until 9 PM at Arnett & Steele Funeral Home Chapel and Saturday after 1:00 PM at the Middlefork United Methodist Church. Light a virtual candle or sign the guest register at www.arnettsteele.com
