Harvey Foister "Flat" Meyers Harvey Foister “Flat” Meyers, 90, of Pineville, passed away on Saturday, May 23, 2009 at the Pineville Community Hospital. He was born August 8, 1918 in Middlesboro a son of the late Isom and Florence Mink Meyers. He was a World War II veteran having served in the U.S. navy and was a member of the American Legion. Harvey was retired from Black Star Coal Corporation and was a member of the United Mine Workers and Teamsters Local 89.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Lucille Bingham Meyers, brothers, Grover and Edd Meyers and sisters, Edna Grace and Verda Mae Young.
Survivors include his daughters, Wanda (Michael) Welch and Jewell Meyers of Pineville; sister-in-law, Amanda Meyers; nephews, Jimmy Young and Eddie Meyers; nieces, Peggy Miller and Patsy Young; great-niece, Samantha Young; great-nephews, Jimmy Young, II, Brian and Jimmy Dan Meyers.
Funeral Information
Graveside Services will be at 11:00 AM Wednesday at Green Hills Memorial Gardens, Middlesboro with Rev. Michael Welch.
Arrangements are by Arnett & Steele Funeral Home, Pineville.
