Billy Ray Taylor, 77, of Calloway passed away Sunday, January 22, 2012 of natural causes. He was born in Mathel, KY on September 1, 1934. He served his country honorably in the United States Air Force. He was of the Baptist faith. Bill lived a full life and enjoyed his family, friends and his animals. Almost all his childhood and most of his adult photos show him with one dog or another. When he was able, he loved to hunt and run his dogs in the mountains. He taught all the kids how to shoot and always had time for them and loved to joke and cut up with them more than anything else. He was quick to smile and laugh. He loved life and those around him.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, Mount and Pauline Hampton Taylor and his nephew, Kevin James Lynch of Pontiac, Michigan.
He is survived by his brother and sister-in-law, Randal and Linda Taylor of Harrogate, Tennessee and their son Randal Taylor, Jr., who spent the last few years of Bill's life living with him and caring for him; Randy's children; Randal Kenneth Taylor, Michael and Brandi; his sister and brother-in-law, Diana and Phillip Neff of Auburn Hills, Michigan; Diana's children, Pamela Lynch of Middlesboro, Kentucky and Albert Alvarado of Middlesboro, Kentucky; and Albert's children, Toni and her daughter, Adrienne Crawford of New York, Shana Alvarado and Anthony Marsee and their son, Alexis of Middlesboro, Kentucky and Donna "Ally" Alvarado of Knoxville, Tennessee; and his brother, Michael Taylor of Middlesboro, Kentucky; his extended family including cousins, Vernon Taylor, Oreda Jarrell, Jesse Taylor, Patsy Bunch, Sylvia Green, Betty Taylor Grant, James Taylor, Norma Taylor Miller, Ruby Butler, Peggy Osta, Kelly Woodard and Samantha Woodward and his dear friends, Margaret Wilson, Tammy Mays, Tony Boggs, Judy Byrd and Ashley Capps and a host of other relatives and many friends.

Funeral Information

Services will be 2 PM Thursday at the Arnett & Steele Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. William Boyd Bingham. Burial will follow in the Taylor Cemetery at Tan Yard Hill with Randy Taylor, Albert Alvarado, Michael Taylor, Tony Boggs, Tom Bohr and Bill Woodward serving as pallbearers. Honorary pallbearers will be his special friends and neighbors, Glenn and Dorothy Peace.
